Each course includes three components; theory, practical skill and mandatory workplace hours. The theory component is delivered and assessed online . Practical skills component and mandatory hours in the workplace allow students the opportunity to gain the skills, practice the skills and demonstrate cin the workplace to industry standards. Competency in a unit is acheived when all three components are deemed satisfactory by the Assessor.

Funding eligibility includes;
- be a Queensland resident
- be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian
- entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
- not hold a certificate IV or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training; and
- not be enrolled in another qualification, not including foundation skills training

Funding eligibility includes;
- be a Queensland resident
- be aged 15 years or over, and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools students)
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
- not hold a certificate III level or higher qualification (not including qualifications completed at school and foundations skills training)
- not be enrolled in another qualification (not including foundations skills training).
By choosing a subsidised course through a Skills Assure supplier, you can gain skills that are valued by industry and will help you get a job once your are finished your studies or you may employment upon enrolment. This is due to the mandatory practical component of the course where students seek a volunteer placement (if not already employed in the industry) which can lead to employment. For example; Early childhood education and care settings, (childcare centres, Daycare centres, Early learning centres) Disability Support organisations and Schools seeking teacher-aides.
Financial support for apprentices
When you train in a priority occupation you may be eligible for an incentive to support you to complete your apprenticeship and offset the cost of living.
For example: If you’re training towards a qualification listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List, you can apply for up to $5000
Apprentices under 25 years of age DO NOT pay any fees but can still receive up to $5000 as above.
Financial support for employers
The Priority Wage Subsidy is a wage subsidy for employers of Australian Apprentices training towards an occupation listed on the Australian Apprenticeships Priority List at a Certificate level III or above. You can use the Priority List Explorer to see which occupations and qualifications qualify for support.
You may be eligible to receive:
- 10% of your apprentices wages paid to you for the first 24 months (up to $1500 per quarter)
- 5% of your apprentices wages paid to you for the third 12 month period (up to $750 per quarter)
